Student Ballroom Dance Classes

2012 Session I   Jan. 17 - Feb. 28 (7 weeks) $35.00
2012 Session II  Mar. 6 - April 24 (7 weeks omit April 10) $35.00
2012 Session III May 1 - June 12 (7 weeks) $35.00

Tuesdays
4:00pm BALLROOM ages 9 - 12
5:00pm BALLROOM ages 13 and up
Payment is expected in full the first day of class for each session.

Dress Code: There is not a mandatory dress code but it is suggested and most of the kids wear dress shoes and casual dressy clothes.
(Girls tend to wear skirts and boys nice shirts and dress shoes)
 
SPACE IS LIMITED as we do try to keep an even boy/girl ratio. If interested please send name and age of student, boy or girl and we will put them on the appropriate class list.

**THE BALLROOM SYLLABUS WILL ALLOW THE STUDENTS TO FEEL COMFORTABLE IN ANY DANCING SITUATION. RECOMMENDED DANCES WOULD BE MERENGUE, SALSA, FOXTROT AND WALTZ. THE FIRST SESSION WOULD RUN FOR 7 WEEKS THEN CONTINUE AFTER THANKSGIVING.

Friday, April 20th from 7- 11pm at the Havana Ballroom at exit 25 in Huntersville, NC
Cost is $40 - due  by Monday, April 2.

 

 Enrichment Trips

Green River Ecology Trip
Located on a 3400 acre private wildlife preserve.
Date: August 27-29, 2012
Location: 301 Green River Rd. Cedare MOuntain NC 28718.  Approx. 2 hours and 45 minutes from Charlotte.

All ages are welcome but due to extensive hiking a target age of 8 and up is suggested for the activities.
The preserve is able to provide the appropriate level of information for each field groups age range as the mentor naturalists have over 25 years experience. Great for teens.

Parents may accompany/participate with students at all classes/activities. Activities will include mentor hikes to caves, mountain over looks, archaeological sites, waterfall we can polar bear in, a river we can snorkel to collect samples from / swim in and pioneer cabin - activities in this building holds options like friction fire starting, wood bowl and soap stone carving, apple cider making and more. There are additional programs listed on the website but not all of them are available during the fall sessions.
Evening programs will include choices like campfire stories, night hike and outdoor games.

Cabins: 8 beds per cabin with 1 bathroom
Families will stay together for classes and will be assigned together in the same cabin. Therefore it is possible that some cabins may be co-ed with other students that are close in age. If there is someone you would like to stay in the same cabin with please let me know.
Food allegories are taken seriously at this camp. A vegetarian option is always available as well as a full salad bar at lunch and dinner. They also have experience with nut / gluten allergies and can set up accordingly if we need it.
Space is limited. Cost includes all classes/activities, meals and lodging for approximately 3 days and 2 nights.
Cost: $214 per student
$107 per adult

To hold your spot:
1. An email with your family's information must be sent as listed above.
 
AND
 
2. A $15 deposit per person must be sent to me asap - spots will be held in the order that the deposits arrive.
  
Payment schedule will be split into 3 payments - an immediate deposit to hold your spot and 2 additional payments on April 22nd and July 29th.
 
If you need to cancel you will be able to receive a full refund IF you cancel before July 29th.
